Body parts from the bioprinter
A heart valve, a meniscus and a part of the femur. Swiss and Dutch researchers have developed a 3D bioprinter that prints body parts within seconds.
It is called volumetric bioprinting, an invention of the technical university in Lausanne in collaboration with the University Medical Center in Utrecht. In a few seconds, it is possible to roll three-dimensional, organic objects out of the printer. The promises have come true.
